All discussion on this site is logged and visible to the webmaster. While chatting at The Bang is generally unmoderated, we do enforce some general rules. If a chatter's behavior is found to be unacceptable, his or her site (ISP) will be banned from using The Bang. If this happens to your site you'll see a notice on your screen, then you'll be immediately kicked from the room and unable to log on again. Some bans are permanent and some are eventually removed. Contacting us regarding the ban has no effect. See below.

NOTE: Bans may affect everyone coming from the same ISP. In other words, even if you've done nothing wrong you may be unable to chat if other troublesome chatters are coming from your ISP. And if others are kept from chatting due to your behavior, you can expect to hear from them. Banning decisions are final and not open to discussion.

Unacceptable Behavior In the Public Rooms or Discussion Forum

• Using abusive, crude, threatening, or sexually explicit language (this includes handles).
• Flooding the chat window or forum with lengthy or multiple posts to disrupt the discussion.
• Advertising. Including a one-time link to your home page is fine. Logging in only to promote another site is not.
• Masquerading as another user or the webmaster.
• Attempting to circumvent the site's security in any way.

• Chatting via private messages or in private rooms is not moderated, though complaints will be investigated and could still result in a ban. Use the chat's "Ignore Private Messages" function if you'd prefer not to receive non-public comments from other chatters.
